CUTTHROAT CAVERNS: “Create an Enconter” CONTEST

OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY

1. WHO CAN ENTER: The contest is open to anyone 13 years of age or older.

2. HOW TO ENTER: Create an original Encounter Card idea including: Encounter name, Special ability text, and Attack Matrix information. The Grand Prize Winner's submitted Encounter Card idea may be used in a future Cutthroat Caverns expansion.

Then e-mail or on paper no larger than 8-1/2" x 11", type or print your submission idea along with your complete name, address (No P.O. Boxes), zip code, telephone number, and date of birth.

You may enter by e-mailing your submission to covertc@smirkanddagger.com from 11/05/07 through 11:59 p.m. EST on 2/29/08.

Alternatively, you may submit your entry by mail. Mailed entries must be received no later than 3/7/08. Send your completed entry to: Smirk and Dagger Games - Encounter Contest, 30 Lyrical Lane, Sandy Hook, CT 06482.

All entries become property of Smirk and Dagger Games and none will be returned.

Entries will be disqualified if they contain names or special abilities of past, current or proposed Encounter Cards, if they use names already legally owned by other companies or if they are named after actual people.

3. JUDGING: Final judging to determine winners will be accomplished by the design team for Cutthroat Caverns. All judging will be based on the uniqueness and creativity of the Encounter’s special ability text. Any ties will be broken by the uniqueness and creativity of the Encounter name and/or the appropriateness of the Attack Matrix data in regards to how balanced the Encounter is in relationship to previously published Encounters. Winners will be notified by mail. Decisions of judges are final.

4. PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES: (1) Grand Prize: Grand Prize also includes the following Smirk and Dagger products; Hex Hex, Hex Hex Next, Run for Your Life Candyman, Dead Hand Chaos Poker, Cutthroat Caverns, Deeper and Darker and the new expansion in which your card may appear. AVR $150. (Up to 15 potential) First Prizes – Use of your idea in a future Cutthroat Caverns expansion and a copy of Cutthroat Caverns, Deeper and Darker and the new expansion in which your card may appear. AVR $60. Prizes consist of only those items specifically listed as part of the prize. Limit one prize per person.

5. GENERAL RULES: Contest open to people 13 years of age and older. Employees of Smirk and Dagger Games, their affiliates, organizations, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and their immediate families and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible. Void where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Winners may make no substitution or transfer of prize. All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of winner. Not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete or illegible entries. Potential Grand Prize winner and parent or legal guardian of potential winner, must sign an Affidavit of Eligibility certifying that submission is entrant's original work, that entrant owns right to the work, that the submission has not previously won a prize in a national contest nor has been previously published in a national publication, and that entrant has followed the Official Rules of the contest. Affidavit, along with a Release of Liability/Prize Acceptance Form, must be returned within 14 days of attempted notification. Noncompliance within this time period will result in disqualification and an alternate will be selected. Return of prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and an alternate will be selected. Smirk and Dagger Games is not responsible if the Cutthroat Caverns Expansion release date(s) are cancelled or delayed for any reason or if Smirk and Dagger does not use the winner's submission for the game. By acceptance of prize, winners consent to use of name and/or likeness and entry material submitted in any manner by Smirk and Dagger for advertising or trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. Winners understand by accepting this prize that certain elements of their submission may need to be modified for clarity and/or game balance and consent to these changes. Prize winner assumes all liability for any injuries or damages caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this promotion or use or redemption of any prize. Not responsible for technical hardware/ software failures, lost/unavailable network connections, misdirected e-mail, failed/incomplete/ garbled/delayed computer. In the event a potential winner entered via internet and a dispute arises regarding specific individual entitled to receive prize, entries made by internet will be declared made by authorized account. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the person assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider/online service provider/other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with submitted e-mail address. Smirk and Dagger Games is not responsible for any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from participation in/accessing/downloading information in connection with this contest. By participating in this promotion, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges.

6. For the name of the Grand Prize winner, go to www.smirkanddagger.com/winner between 3/15/08 and 7/31/08. The winner's name will also appear on the card and in the rules sheet of the game in which their card appears.
